Howard Beale is a top TV anchorman, who announces one day that he will blow his brains out in prime time, for the sake of the ratings. Diana Christensen, the Vice President of Programming, Max Schumacher, the News Division President and Frank Hackett, the hatchet man for the corporation, all participate in glorifying Beale as their star and in his ultimate destruction
