Summary: Vera, a 20-year old student nurse discovers that she is pregnant after an encounter with her university student boyfriend. The nursing college administration has strict policies and pregnant students are threatened with expulsion. Paula, Vera's best friend and close confidant who was in a similar predicament earlier and underwent a successful abortion coaxes her to do the same. Considering the stigma sorrounding premarital pregnancies, Vera is strewn in a state of confusion. Seeing no other option, she gives in to Paula's advice and considering an aborion so as to continue with her studies. Sara, the abortionist, gets a powerful conversion on seeing a live baby on the screen of the ultrasound machine. Now fully convinced about the gift of life, she tearfully reveals to Vera her past mistakes on abortion and her greed for money. Sara counsels and convinces Vera to keep the baby. Finally, she is grateful for the gift of the baby and her preservation of the sanctity of life.
