The main objective of this study was to examine the effect of work-life balance on employee commitment at Toyota Kenya Limited. This study adopted a descriptive research design where the researcher collected, analyzed data, integrate findings and drew inferences using quantitative methods. The study was carried out at Toyota Kenya Limited head office in Nairobi County. The study employed simple random sampling which was applied in each department to ensure that this sample was representative. This study collected primary data from the field using a semi structured questionnaire that contained both open and close ended questions. The data collected from the field were edited, checked for completeness and coded. Descriptive analysis was done where measures of central tendencies (frequencies, means and percentages) were obtained. Correlations analysis was conducted to establish the relationship between the Independent variables of Work Life Balance Programs, Dependent variable of Employee Commitment and the intervening variable of Challenges in managing the programs. The study found out that flexible work schedules and flexibility to work in another location were very important to them. The study established that the respondents disagreed that work-life balance programs are poorly communicated to all employees. The study further revealed that the respondents were in agreement to a great extent that they tell their friends the goodness of their organization. The study concluded that work life balance practices relating to the place and to the job benefits are only moderately adopted by employees at Toyota Kenya Limited. The pace of the work in this company fairly enables employees to do a good job and work-life programs have been found to be significant for employees who deal both with work and family responsibilities. The study recommends that greater attention should be paid to practices relating to flexibility of location of the job to be done as well as having working out flexible working schedules and the organization should continue to embrace family supportive programs that will allow employees to live a balance life when at work or not.
