520 3# - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc The police mainly depend on the information they get from various sources to aid investigations, usually, there is delayed investigation process if no information about a suspect or a scene of injustice is in place. To add on that even if there is information the police collect this information by use of paper and notebooks, usually it is hard to maintain and correlate the data from the field by the police officers because they are on paper. Therefore, the police need to develop a better model for collecting information on criminals. This study sought to find out how to integrate technology into the Kenya police service to improve their service delivery in terms of intelligence and information gathering and data analysis. The study has used both qualitative and quantitative methods to collect data because there will be need to get a deeper understanding into how the Kenya Police work in order to understand their data gathering process and how well the application would fit into their operations and improve them. It also sought to help build knowledge base for the police for easy manipulation of data to assist in predicting and even giving heads up on where to begin investigations. The end results was a mobile application that helps the police gather intelligence and be able to fasten their investigations easily by analysis, criminal mapping, triangulation of data, fast retrieval of criminal suspects.
